Yiming is an inquisitive student dedicated to applying science and technology to make positive impacts. Materials science is his passion, in which he sees meaningful purposes and paramount potentials. He is currently an undergraduate student at The University of Manchester, studying Materials Science and Engineering and hoping to specialise in nano-materials.

During his summer break, he participates at Augmented Human Lab as an intern, working on the precise actuation of shape memory alloy (SMA) springs. He aims to pursue a career in materials research, development, and application and contributing towards sustainable solutions to challenging problems.

In his free time, Yiming is a capoeirista (someone who practices Capoeira) and a drummer. He plays impromptu drum covers to rewind from intense study sessions.
