Samitha Elvitigala

Samitha Elvitigala Completed his bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. At UoM he worked on CAREU- Plantar foot pressure and temperature measuring system to early recognize diabetic foot ulcers as his final year research project. Before joining AHLab he worked as an Embedded System Design Engineer at SYNERGEN Technology Labs, a start-up company. In SYNERGEN Samitha contributed to hardware development and robust algorithm development for embedded systems. Earlier in 2013 - 2014, he worked in AHLab as a visiting student intern and he worked up to the POC level of the project STICKAMPS (a non-invasive current measuring system). SUTD filed a patent for this project and Samitha was named as a co-inventor because of his contribution to the project.

He joined the Augmented Human Lab at SUTD in 2016 and he is currently working as a Research Engineer.
His Interested research areas include Human-Computer Interaction, Internet of Things, digital signal processing, and Robotics.

In his leisure time, Samitha loves travelling and hiking
